What have we achieved
In our first year, with the support of parishioners and others in Lichfield, we were able to send £250 to FHL. This went towards providing a new cooker for the Handal family in Beit Sahour. More about the family and how the FHL has supported them can be found by clicking here to go to the Winter/Spring 2014 Newsletter At the end of the second year, following a number of events and other fundraising activity we were able to send £500 to FHL. After consulting with the FHL we agreed to support the Rizkallah family in Beit Jala. They are a family of two parents, four daughters and a son with the paternal mother also living with them. The family are facing many challenges and our funding will support them for six months. In parallel with our parish activites, during the year Wilf Mattimoe, President of the Lichfield Catenians also “adopted” the FHL as his nominated charity. Following an excellent year, they were also able to donate £500 to the FHL which has been directed towards supporting the Rizkallah family for the remainder of the year. |
